The legendary residence was host to some of the valley’s most glamorous parties with Hollywood’s brightest stars of the day. The twin palm trees located poolside, appropriately name the infamous estate. Frank Sinatra often hoisted his Jack Daniels emblem flag on the flag pole once positioned between the twin palms, which indicated an invite to his Movie Colony neighborhood cronies that revelry and cocktails were in order. The home was also witness to some of Sinatra’s most memorable bouts. One of the most outrageous was when Frank threw then-wife Ava Gardner’s possessions onto the driveway after she appeared at the house in an attempt to catch him with Lana Turner. You can still see a chip in one sink that is rumored to have been made when Frank slammed a champagne bottle during an argument with Ava. The residence has been completely restored with vintage designer furnishings throughout the residence and includes the original sound and recording system installed by Valentino Electronics in Hollywood. The kitchen is the most recent restoration with Viking appliances and St. Charles modern cabinetry resembling the original kitchen design.
The residence includes a master suite, guest suite, guest bedroom, and an exterior entrance guest room. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with an additional powder room in the great room. The kitchen is updated with modern appliances and perfect for creating culinary art and entertaining. The estate is also wired with the latest technology, including wireless internet and iPod connectivity with surround sound. Guest can enjoy listening to nostalgic Sinatra tunes that are available for enjoyment. While the home does include the original recording system, today the cabinet is also used to showcase a flat screen television. Memorabilia can be seen throughout the home in this preserved architectural residence that was once Frank Sinatra’s desert retreat from Hollywood. This was the first home designed by Stewart Williams and also the first home purchased by Frank Sinatra. |
