The desert oasis has recently experienced a comeback by blending its nostalgic past as a playground for Hollywood with hip new development attracting a new generation of trendy travelers. Palm Springs was a favorite venue for The Rat Pack, and stars such as Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Lucille Ball all built homes in Palm Springs. Today, Palm Springs has become a gathering spot for architecture aficionados, musicians, artists, and trendy weekenders seeking a warm, retro-chic getaway with great hotels, restaurants and outdoor activities.
Palm Springs Style: INSIDE SINATRA’S TWIN PALMS ESTATE
Palm Springs Style recently did a spread on Frank Sinatra’s Twin Palms Estate in the Movie Colony neighborhood for their DESIGN + DÉCOR section.
They had some really interesting things to say about the property…
"Sleek and understated with a flat shed roof few had seen before in the desert, the now-iconic design featured clean lines with floor-to-ceiling windows and clerestories that gave a light, airy aura to the 4,500-square-foot modular layout. The modern design won Sinatra over, and Williams’ team worked around the clock to get the project finished in time for Sinatra to ring in the New Year at his new home, which was dubbed “Twin Palms” in reference to the two tall palm trees in the yard."
Sinatra House Featured in “Yes, You Can Vacation in These Celebrity Homes” on HouseBeautiful.com
HouseBeautiful.com recently ran a piece on celebrity homes that are now available as vacation rentals. Being one of the more iconic Palm Springs vacation rentals available, of course Sinatra House got a healthy mention:
“Frank Sinatra
Here’s your chance to stay in Ol’ Blue Eyes’s dream house. Sinatra commissioned Palm Springs architect E. Stewart Williams to build Twin Palms in 1947. The four-bedroom estate features a pool and poolhouse, Sinatra memorabilia and famous artworks, and the singer’s original recording studio.”
